Double trouble?

Wow. The rest of 2018 just went by in a blur. You’ll notice my last post was in May, and I took a temporary hiatus from writing here. The reason was, that we had twin boys in late May, and our little tribe doubled from 2 to 4 kids.

When I say twins, people usually mutter under their breath “Double trouble”. It must be true because it rhymes, right? And actually, I’ve noticed that people try to play down their own issues when talking to me because “I have it worse”. Sure, things are busy, but I actually disagree.

I’d say the hardest stage of parenting we’ve had so far was with our first daughter. She didn’t sleep well, we had no idea what we were doing as parents, and everything was difficult and scary. When people with one baby tell me they have it easy compared to me, I think of when we had just one. It’s HARD.

So I guess if you’re wondering if 4 kids under 4 are hard work, I’d say, yes they are. But any amount of kids can be hard work. And even though we will tear out our hair when the twins start running around, we love having them! Make sure you’re looking out for anyone who’s having a hard time with kids, not just those with lots of them!!!
